A young black girl, Ntombizonke, exists in a world filled with Eurocentric beauty standards, patriarchal views and discrimination due to her race and gender. She has lost her voice; it has been drowned out by her peers, friends, family and society, and their opinion of who she ought to be - before she is given the chance to identify herself. She is then summoned by her ancestral guide, and is magically sucked into her book. Here, she is taken on a journey - through poetry and dance - that connects her to her roots, and uncovers how the Elementals (Gods of the elements: Earth, Water, Wind and Fire) feed into her true identity.
