AFDA is proud to announce that four AFDA 2020 graduation films have been selected in competition at the 10th annual Jozi Film Festival. The films include AFDA Cape Town honours films, “A Bloom”, directed by Antony Rangel Coll, “Four Walls and a Roof”, directed by Keelan Nieuwstadt, AFDA Johannesburg honours film “Quite on Set”, directed by Jessica Teixeira and AFDA Johannesburg 3rd year undergraduate film “The Professional” directed by Damien Cupido and Aphiwe Gwiji.

The Jozi Film Festival is proudly independent, and a supporter of independent films. The festival supports and showcases both upcoming talent and veteran filmmakers.

The festival was initially created to provide a platform for local filmmakers in Johannesburg, and to develop an audience for South African films. While still prioritizing local film, JFF now accept films from around the world – features, short films, documentaries and student films.

The festival is the longest running multi-genre festival in the City of Gold and their motto remains the same from Day One: We Love Jozi. We Love Film. The Jozi Film Festival strongly supports independent films.

There will be three ways to enjoy the festival this year.

  1. Physical screenings at The Bioscope at 44 Stanley Ave, 1-3 October.
  1. An on-demand channel with all the selections for 2021, running from 1-10 October. Tix are R49.99 for an all-access pass.
  1. 10 Days, 10 Films. From 1-10 October, the festival will host a nightly free Zoom screening at 8pm, followed by a Q&A with the director/s. Some films are geoblocked to SA but many are open worldwide.
