AFDA MFA alumnus and Sound Design lecturer DJ InviZable is a mythical being who’s travelled from distant planets in the Sonarverse. He’s a refugee of Xi, who has created a new sound – XiFi. Aside from lecturing at AFDA, InviZable is a filmmaker and an active musician with international touring experience. He is also an experienced computer technology expert with specialisation in audio and video post-production and is passionate about education and skills transferal.

In July this year InviZable travelled to Luxembourg where he played alongside the likes of Seun Kuti and Bantou Mentale as part of the country's National Day celebrations on the 14th of July.  InviZAble was a special treat for the young people of Luxembourg who were mesmerized by the sound of the Kalimba and Keytar.

Back home, after bonding with the charismatic Flying Bantu from Vic Falls earlier in the year at Canadian Music Week, InviZAble announced a fresh remix of the bands hit single “Ceasefire”. The track has been available on streaming platforms since September 5th.

In October 2018, InviZAble released his album “XiFi”, and received rave reviews from the critics. Texx and the City had this to say -   An expansive, genre-bridging cultural melting pot of a dance music album. “XiFi” is a staggering amalgamation of African electro tangents, wrapped in cinematic soundscapes and unexpected genre switches. Earthy, cultural textures are rife and rippling, rubbing shoulders comfortably with cumulative electronic builds and deeply satisfying drops.

“XiFi” includes the track ‘Mhlaba Ne Zulu’, featuring the world renowned South African band BCUC and the tracks, ‘Nonkala,’ and ‘Intliziyo Yam’ featuring Yolanda Fyrus.

InviZAble has also morphed into a bigger creative project. It is not just about the music – InviZAble recently had a successful exhibition at the Everard Read Gallery in Cape Town, a graphic novel is coming soon and of course there is the sonic trike too. In March this year, InviZAble returned home from a successful mission to the Netherlands after completing the build of his new sonic trike - 'Skoro 2020'. The new system was fabricated in collaboration with Peter Mc Kenzie of Qnetik who has worked on the stage designs of Ramstein, Katy Perry, 2012 Olympic Games and Roger Waters.

InviZable was also the South African rock climbing champion in the Under 16 age category in 1995, a participant at World Youth Rock Climbing Championships, Moscow, 1996 and the youngest South African to summit Mont Blanc, France.
