2018 AFDA Durban honours graduate, Minenhle Luthuli has been selected to participate in the shorts selection for Durban Film Mart's Talent Campus with her script, “Heart Attack”, which she developed in her honours course last year.

In her gap year after High School, Minenhle worked at Tox Media, a South African Television content producer as their runner, and later on as a production assistant. She then enrolled for a Bachelor's Degree in Motion Picture Medium at AFDA Durban.  In 2017 she made my first two short films which were received well by audiences. Her 3rd year experimental film, Bars, screened at the Pine River Student Film Festival in the USA. Her graduation short film, Umsolwa (The Accused) screened at the Slum Film Festival in Kenya and also screened in competition at the Lake International PanAfrican Film Festival. Both films were nominated for Best Student Film at the Simon Sabela Awards in South Africa, with The Accused taking the award. During her undergraduate years, Minenhle was interning for different television production companies, including Red Pepper Studios as a screenwriter. Last year, 2018, during her honours year, she was a student mentor at the Durban International Film Festival.
